Sometimes you just can't

I was looking for products to advertise one day when I came across a ‘teach yourself to play guitar’ type e-program. It looked pretty good and was paying out quite well. When I went to check it out, looking for lines to use in my ad I came across, ‘Learn to play guitar like Ozzy Osbourne*’ I just couldn’t do it.

The second one was a campaign that I actually promoted for a while, it just about broke even. It was a toolbar to download which would provide an instant list of child offenders. It got to me in the end because I felt like I was making money from people’s fears.

*If you don’t get it e-mail me and I’ll explain.

I understand you on this one, Anji. I've always looked for things to promote that enhance people's lives, rather than play on their fears. There is a place for these things, but they aren't my personal preference.

Although I wouldn't have a problem learning to play guitar like Ozzy, especially since he's not a guitarist, he's a vocalist :).

Lyman; I can play better than Ozzy! The bass line to Groundhogs 'Cherry Red'. almost prehistoric by now though, I think.
