Would you like to be a Hips and Curves Affiliate?

For several years now I’ve been an Affiliate on Shareasale and one of the programs they run is Hips and Curves. Hips and Curves is an online company selling lingerie in larger sizes. Some of the lingerie is very “Oh–la-la”, but it is tasteful and elegant. They believe that every woman has the right to be sexy and seductive if they want to and they understand the importance of positive body image.

I have had success in promoting their website and I’d like to invite you to join in. The link will take you to the Shareasale website where you can read about how to join and read about commissions and tools provided to use online.

The team at Hips and Curves send out regular newsletters and information so that you are always aware of the latest additions to their website. They really make you feel part of the team.

The holidays are coming up and women everywhere will be wondering what lingerie to wear for their own intimate celebrations.

Why not  Join the HipsandCurves.com Affiliate Program  and spread the word?

Consume, consume, consume...

Last year we visited the UK for the first time in 8 years. We went back again this month. We were surprised at how much pressure there is nowadays to consume, consume, consume – especially food items we didn’t need.

As we went through the till on the motorway services we were invited to buy the days deal in chocolate, two for the price of one. The chocolate bars were bigger than they used to be too. Coffee came in small medium and large sizes. We warily chose the small latte, which came in a huge mug, full to the brim. Talk about culture shock!

Grocery shopping was the same; the more you buy the more you "save"! How much is thrown away?

We got the impression that most of England is on a permanent coffee and cake break. I’m no economist – is this the secret as to why the UK economy is doing better than France?

Oops!

I know that it’s almost 6 months (6 months!!) since I last posted here. Well at last, here is an update. I slowly continued re-scanning postcards, but I haven’t finished yet and eBay haven’t taken the postcards with borders away – yet.

We used the situation to our advantage; we've cleaned up our announcements and changed our filing system completely. In the past, we filed postcards in date order. After 7 years it meant that we had around 200 postcards for each day of the month. Not a very practical arrangement when hunting out cards that had been sold. For several months now each new card has a reference number and these are filed in order. Sales are dealt with super fast now.

As of August we now have a shooting star by our name on eBay. Over 10,000 satisfied customers!

The goal posts have been moved again, again

For quite a long time now we framed the scans of our postcards sold on ebay.  It made them stand out and we thought, looked more professional.  We were told that we would have to stop doing this about a year ago; so we stopped.  Now we have to take the remaining frame from cards online.  Several thousand need to be changed before ‘the spring’.  I’m going as fast as I can (re-scanning about 30 a day) but I won’t get them all.  I know that ebay can ‘disappear’ announcements.

There is a service provided that can make the changes for you, but we can’t afford it.

So for a while I won’t be blogging or visiting or surfing much.

Never give up revisited

Just over 5 years ago, I was writing posts for my Alphabet Challenge and came to the letter ‘N’*.

Here is the post.

Just recently my youngest son, who is in his early 20s, has started to think more seriously than ever about what to do with his life. I lent him my copy of “Bring out the Magic in your Mind”. I was pleased to see that the book speaks to him just as it spoke to me at around his age. Recommended reading if you need to top up on self- belief .

* It appears that I never got further than the letter 'S'

Have you got an Etsy Shop?

I’m thinking of setting up an Etsy Shop so that I can specifically sell French fantasy postcards to English speaking countries (My eBay shop is mainly in French as my business is registered in France). If you’re reading this and have already set up a shop I’d like to know:

Is it easy to set up?

Do you get many sales?

What do you think of the charges?

Any feedback would be very welcome.

Help!!! Please

In the last couple of days when we’ve been rolling over our announcements on eBay and also creating new announcements we’ve been getting the message (more or less this as it is in French):

Javascript Unescape/FromCharCode …and HTML refresh are refused

It took 40 minutes to roll over 25 postcards this morning. I’ve checked that we’re not knowingly using forbidden scripts and any links we have are inside our personal part of our announcements. They only lead to other parts of our store anyway.

My theory:

This seems to be happening randomly and I wondered if it was something to do with the ads that eBay places onto our announcements. I understand that JavaScript is to do with movement. Could this be happening when an ad that moves or refreshes comes up on our page?

We have written to eBay – two days ago. No reply as I write this. Could this mean they are having problems too?

We are tearing our hair out over this. Have you ever had this problem? Any ideas as to how to solve this?

They’ve moved those goal posts again.

eBay France have decided that from the autumn we are not to put borders around our images. We’re not happy about stopping. The big question is will I have to re-scan over 5000 postcards in my store? Also items on sale will have to be pictures of the item and not copied from the press or a catalogue. That doesn't concern us.

How is it in your country?

Which image do you prefer?
