All my own work

As from today you can buy Angie Brynner & Company from Amazon for your Kindle. If you haven’t got a Kindle reader you can download a free App from Amazon for smartphones, or you can read using your tablet or computer.

I've been writing for a while, but never published so this is a big day for me!

Dusting the shelves

It's been a few years since we opened our eBay store. There have been a lot of changes in that time. Recently, we decided to clean up our older postcard announcements. It’s been quite a shock looking at some of them. Today more information is provided by eBay; when we started we had to put so much info into each announcement. We can streamline by getting rid of the clutter and tidying up colours and sizes of text and presentation etc.

The biggest shock has been discovering that some of our pictures aren’t there anymore. It’s not difficult to replace them and again we can update the presentation and size of the images.

It’s been very satisfying to spend some time refreshing and tidying up. I hope that our customers appreciate it.

Over nine years!

I didn’t realize that this blog had been around for so long. In May 2006 I was just starting my short career as an affiliate advertiser. It was hard at first but I used to enjoy myself and sometimes actually made a profit. We were starting to sell old French postcards on eBay and I was also writing one or two blog posts and getting paid! I was a long way from earning a salary, but I went on to set up my own postcard business a year later in April 2007.

Traffic Surf

This traffic exchange is very different to all of the others that I’ve come across over the years. You create your ads – which means submit your sites or blogs and decide how many credits you want to spend every day on each site. You can choose which types of categories you’d like to see when you complete the details of your account.

The big difference is in the surfing. You’re presented with a page of ‘ads’ and you pick the one you’d like to look at. The counter is for 20 seconds and you earn between 1 and 5 credits for every site you see. The amount of credits you earn for each site seems to be random. I suppose this is so that anyone’s site isn’t just being clicked on for credits. If you’ve finished with all of the sites on the page click on ‘More ads’ and another page presents itself.

What I like about this is that you choose which sites you want to see. Some sites and blogs haven’t been updated for a while and you soon learn which ones to avoid. There is a draw everyday where you can win 100 bonus credits. There are also bonus credits to be earned if you click on 100 sites a day. Referrals also bring in bonus credits. When you join up you get 100 bonus credits for every ad you place!

Well worth a visit.

Three months between posts - Not good

I could have made more out of Christmas and the New Year, but I didn’t. I could have made more of Valentine’s day, but I didn’t. Something else I have to do is update the banners I’m using to promote various companies… and then there is my PopShop to tend to.

Interesting to note is that at the end of March 2006 I started up this blog to replace the old one, here’s why. That’s nine years ago! How did the time go so quickly?

Would you like to be a Hips and Curves Affiliate?

For several years now I’ve been an Affiliate on Shareasale and one of the programs they run is Hips and Curves. Hips and Curves is an online company selling lingerie in larger sizes. Some of the lingerie is very “Oh–la-la”, but it is tasteful and elegant. They believe that every woman has the right to be sexy and seductive if they want to and they understand the importance of positive body image.

I have had success in promoting their website and I’d like to invite you to join in. The link will take you to the Shareasale website where you can read about how to join and read about commissions and tools provided to use online.

The team at Hips and Curves send out regular newsletters and information so that you are always aware of the latest additions to their website. They really make you feel part of the team.

The holidays are coming up and women everywhere will be wondering what lingerie to wear for their own intimate celebrations.

Why not  Join the HipsandCurves.com Affiliate Program  and spread the word?

Consume, consume, consume...

Last year we visited the UK for the first time in 8 years. We went back again this month. We were surprised at how much pressure there is nowadays to consume, consume, consume – especially food items we didn’t need.

As we went through the till on the motorway services we were invited to buy the days deal in chocolate, two for the price of one. The chocolate bars were bigger than they used to be too. Coffee came in small medium and large sizes. We warily chose the small latte, which came in a huge mug, full to the brim. Talk about culture shock!

Grocery shopping was the same; the more you buy the more you "save"! How much is thrown away?

We got the impression that most of England is on a permanent coffee and cake break. I’m no economist – is this the secret as to why the UK economy is doing better than France?

I know that it’s almost 6 months (6 months!!) since I last posted here. Well at last, here is an update. I slowly continued re-scanning postcards, but I haven’t finished yet and eBay haven’t taken the postcards with borders away – yet.

We used the situation to our advantage; we've cleaned up our announcements and changed our filing system completely. In the past, we filed postcards in date order. After 7 years it meant that we had around 200 postcards for each day of the month. Not a very practical arrangement when hunting out cards that had been sold. For several months now each new card has a reference number and these are filed in order. Sales are dealt with super fast now.

As of August we now have a shooting star by our name on eBay. Over 10,000 satisfied customers!
